Principal Global Investors Appoints Compliance Director

, the asset management arm of Principal Financial Group, has appointed Daniel Lam as compliance director for the Asia region.

Based in Hong Kong, he will report to Jeffrey Hiller, global chief compliance officer, and Paul McConomy, chief administration officer, Asia and Middle East.

Lam joins from AXA IM in Hong Kong, where he was head of compliance for Asia and Japan. He previously held senior compliance positions with Manulife, Alliance Bernstein and HSBC in Hong Kong.

“Compliance is a critical function and we felt this was the right time to add strength and depth to our team.  Daniel brings a wealth of regional experience and will provide guidance to senior management as we expand our business further in the region,” said Paul McConomy, chief administration officer, Asia and Middle East.
